Why Should I Get a MMJ Card?

It is required by the State of Nevada for any patient requiring the use of medical cannabis products for treatment, to hold a valid Medical Cannabis Card.

Do I Have To Get a Card?

Yes, it is required by the state of Nevada.

Anyone wishing to purchase cannabis as a medical patient must present their card. Cards from other states with registered medical cannabis programs are eligible. If you wish to purchase cannabis as a recreational, non-medical user, you must present a valid, government-issued ID and be over 21-years-old.

Is there a difference in price between medical and retail cannabis?

Yes. The state taxes on retail cannabis are more than those on medical cannabis.

Can people use medical cannabis cards from other states in Nevada?

Yes. Nevada is the only state in the country that will recognize medical cannabis cards from other states. Patients from California, Arizona and anywhere else medical cannabis is legal will be able to shop at Nevada dispensaries while visiting. Patients must show their valid out of state ID and out of state MMJ card.

Can people use Nevada medical cannabis cards in other states?

As of yet, no states have reciprocity agreements with Nevada

Can patients travel with medical cannabis?

Not legally. If you’re caught with cannabis in another state, even if you bought it legally in Nevada, you could be prosecuted on drug charges. Even if that state has its own medical cannabis program, it doesn’t mean it protects cardholders from out of state. Cannabis also is a no-no at McCarran International Airport. It is a federal facility, and since cannabis still is considered a banned substance under federal law, it’s not allowed at the airport.
